Bottom 8

Gee, I guess by the Steinbrenner Rules, Eric Wedge will be due a salary cut. Brother, do those guys suck! Hal, already not my favorite name, attacked Joe Torre in the media today, saying that a 29% salary cut with performance incentives for a 12 year manager with 6 pennants and 4 World Series championships wasn't an insult. That, my friends, is the definition of a jackass.
No matter how much I love the Sox, I just don't get the Neil Diamond thing. Great, now I'm Larry King.
Manny pops to Cabrera on the first pitch from Betancourt.
Lowell takes strike one, inside corner. It just may not be a good idea to get ahead of the Boston Red Sox in a postseason series. At 1-2 Lowell hits a gapper to left center for a double.
Ball one to Drew. He works Betancourt to 2-2. A foul to the left side seats. Drew singles to center, scoring Lowell. 6-2 Sox. A guy in the crowd has a sign that says, "Drew Fan Club, New Members Welcome." Very good!
Tek stands in. He tries to catch them napping with a bunt attempt, foul, up the third base line. At 2-2 Tek winds up with a book-rule double, misplayed by Blake and Peralta.
The Indians intentionally walk Ellsbury to face Lugo. Have they paid attention this year? Lugo never hits except with RISP.
The Indians hold the Potsdam Conference to decide what to do with a batter when the bases are loaded. What the hell are they discussing? Wedge: "Get them out." Betancourt: "Ok." Get on with it!
Lugo fouls the first pitch outside first. Ball one. At 1-2, Lugo strikes out swinging. Two down.
Now, Pedroia. Boy, the kid came up big tonight! And he hits a gapper to left center, scoring three. A double for Pedroia. Dustin for Mayor! 9-2 Sox!!! Pedroia's three for five, 5 RBI, and only lacking the triple for the cycle. Yeah, he's figured out the postseason.
That's it for Betancourt. Jensen Lewis is on to pitch.
Ball one to Youk. On 1-1 YOUK HOMERS OFF THE COKE BOTTLE! PEDROIA SCORES, 11-2 SOX!!!
Kevin Youkilis just tied the record for hits in an LCS with 14.
Papi stands in, taking strike 1. Youk also lacks only the triple for a cycle. Papi strikes out, swinging, at 2-2. That's the inning, and what an inning.
11-2 Sox after 8.
