Cabrera shows his youth, popping the first pitch to Lugo. You've got to take a strike behind 3-0 in the fourth in Game 7. But any others wishing to follow Cabrera's lead are welcomed.
Strike one to Hafner. Hafner's 0 for his last 16 with 10 strikeouts. So, at 1-2 he doubles off The
Wall. I should have kept my big mouth shut.
Martinez looks at ball one. He hits the second pitch back up the middle, knocked down by Dice K, he recovers and throws to Youk. May have been his best fastball of the night.
Garko's up. Strike one, called. Hey, Ryan, is it a little harder to taste that champagne at this point? He's hanging tough at 1-2, 7 pitches in the AB. On the ninth pitch, Garko doubles off the center field wall, scoring Hafner. 3-1 Sox.
Peralta takes strike one. Long inning now. Okajima is stretching. Ball one. Strike two, swinging. Peralta has a lot riding on this AB. Peralta pops it out of play to the right. Beckett is stretching also. Ball two. He grounds to Lugo, on to Youk and the inning is over.
Long inning for Dice K. May get him out of the game as of the 5th.
Inning: 22 pitches, 15 strikes; Game: 66 pitches, 45 strikes.
The Mazzone Meter says he's pitched 5 innings; that's enough for me. We'll see what Tito thinks.
3-1 Sox through 3 and a half.
