Curt throws ball one to Trot. He jerks the next way foul down the first base line. A year away didn't change that patented stance. Ball two. Strikes, Curt; strikes. Foul fielded wide of the bag by Youk. 2-2. Trot rips one to right. With this score, I can't get too upset about a good night for Trot Nixon.
Ball one to Blake. I have no such feelings for him. Foul over the Sox' dugout. Ball low and outside, nice play by Tek to keep Nixon at first. Blake pops one off his thumbs to Manny. One out.
Top of the order, and Grady Sizemore. I hope Cleveland has him locked up for a long time. Cities other than Boston and New York need to have kids like this to build their teams around. Strike one, called. Ball one. Ball two. Check swing foul, 2-2. Shot up the middle, fielded by Pedroia, to Lugo and on to Youk for the DP! About time we turned the tables on these guys!
Schilling, Inning: 14 pitches, 8 strikes; Game: 65 pitches, 42 strikes. Leo Mazzone says 13 pitches per inning; Curt's right on it.
10-1 Sox after 4 1/2.
