Tek starts the inning taking ball one from Westbrook. Tek was 3-0, Jake's gotten it back full. Tek singles through the hole at short. It's the 8th hit of the night for the Sox, still, only 3 runs so far.
Ellsbury has a chance to do something. I'm looking forward to seeing him as a starter next season. But I'll gladly wait a little while for that. Martinez and Blake visit the mound as Lewis starts to warm up again. Ball one to Jacoby. He hits the second ball to Garko; he misses the catch, but picks it up and throws to first to get Tek. Ellsbury at first. Not a bad trade.
Lugo's turn. Ellsbury's bothering Westbrook again. Jacoby bluffs and Lugo takes strike one. DeMarlo Hale runs through a thousand signs that probably don't mean anything. Westbrook steps off to force Jacoby back to the bag. Everyone's set again. He's going, and Lugo hits it through the vacated 2nd base position, Ellsbury on to third. Tito called a good one there! First and third, one out. Whooo, Ellsbury can run!
Pedroia takes strike one. Ball one, low and inside. I'm surprised Wedge hasn't changed pitchers; they can't afford to get any farther behind, and Lewis is ready. Foul, strike two. Ball two, outside. Lugo's going and the hit and run bites us in the butt this time. Cabrera fields, tags Lugo and throws to first for the DP. Cabrera was covering, and that move took him right where the ball went.
Westbrook's Inning: 14 pitches, 9 strikes; Game: 65 pitches, 37 strikes.
He's pitched 5 innings, and, again, with no tommorow, he's done if I'm his manager. Which I'm not.
3-1 Sox after 4.
