If Pedroia, or, more likely, Jacoby Ellsbury, could turn into a Grady Sizemore-like leadoff man, the Sox might win the next 4 or 5 World Series. If that's too complicated, I sure like the Sizemore! He isn't related to the Cardinals' Ted, but did you know they are the only two players in ML history whose last names start with "Siz"? Did you care?
Schill's high with ball one; at the knees inside with the second pitch. Holy Moley, he just missed Pesky's Pole with a drive to right! Whew! Ball two should have been strike three, and now a full count. Grady grounds to Lugo, but it took 6 pitches. Way too many.
The very impressive Cabrera swings for strike one. He dribbles the second pitch to Pedroia for an easy second out. Two pitches, much more what Schill will need to do to be around for a while.
Strike one to Hafner. The longer he goes without contributing, the scarier he gets. Strike two on a breaking ball. Schilling's fastball isn't anymore, but it's good enough for a swinging strike three!
Very good inning for Curt: 11 pitches, 8 of them strikes.
