Ahhh, the wife made brownies. Thanks, honey.
Jake throws strike one to Pedroia. At 0-2 Dustin singles sharply to left. He has really picked it up in the second half of the series.
Youk is at .478 for the ALCS. Ball one. Youk has had bad dropoffs in performance in each of the last two seasons. I guess it's started to feel like April again, so he's hot. Works for me. At 3-1 Youk singles to left. Two on, none out for Papi.
Ortiz is hitting .462 in the postseason. Long foul to left for strike one. At 2-2 Papi strikes out swinging.
Manny's next. He stands in at .421. Wow, these averages. A hard foul down the right field line for strike one. Martinez just called for a pitch outside, and it tailed back over the center of the plate. Manny fouled it off, but Jake doesn't want to do that many more times. Those are the kinds of pitches that let Manny visit the Mass Turnpike behind the Monster. Manny crushes a ball that eats up Peralta, Pedroia scores. An rbi single for Manny. First and second, one out, 1-0 Sox.
Lowell's up and takes ball one. Mike works it to 3-1. Bases loaded for Drew? I like the sound of that. At 3-1, Mike singles to left. Loaded, indeed. Pitching Coach Willis makes the first trip of the night. Won't be the last.
Drew can become a Red Sox Saint For Life here. But he doesn't. He hits into a 6-4-3 DP on the first pitch.
Still, the lead in the first, 1-0.
Westbrook's inning: 23 pitches, 14 of them strikes. 4 first pitch strikes in six batters. Could have been a whole lot worse for the Indians.
